How to sell pictures?

After struggling for a while what I wanted to do for a living, I was thinking about how great it will be to have a job that is actually your hobby. That will make my job much more fun to do and probably be done with lots of passion and therefore a much better result. And the best part: I got paid to do something I like. 

Searching for some pictures I could use in creations I like to make in Photoshop I found lots of webpages that or for free, but also for money offered pictures shot by people all over the world. One of them was iStock which delivers very nice pictures and also tells you how to sell pictures to them. I made a calculation which told me you’ll get for about a dollar per download. Not much maybe, but the top picture didn’t look so difficult to make and was downloaded like 12000 times in the lost 3 months. 

The privacy rules makes it somehow (very) difficult to sell pictures people seem to like best; pictures from people. Not so difficult to take, you would say, but every one – and then they mean everyone – need to sign a form in where they allow you to sell the picture(s) to them. That means that literally everyone – also them in the background who you don’t know – need to give a permission. Nice job for when you’re at a football,- or baseballmatch. 

Browsing the web this week I saw a website from Brian Moore. He says to know how to sell pictures on the internet and even wrote an ebook about it.
